STUNNING SEA VIEWS FROM A SOUTH-FACING POOL AND GARDEN
A typical Gozo farmhouse with all the old features still intact. You will marvel at the beautiful arched ceilings, the thick limestone walls and wooden beams. In the living room, the animal feeding troughs are still intact.
The house has a total of four bedrooms, one located on the ground floor where you will also find a bathroom, laundry room and the beautiful mill room converted into living space. The kitchen is fully equipped including a dishwasher. The first floor holds the other three bedrooms and two bathrooms. All four bedrooms are very spacious and will sleep 8 persons comfortably. If needed, we can also provide you with a folding bed and travel cot.
Il-Hemda farmhouse offers plenty of outdoor space. The pool is extremely big and is surrounded by ample deck space. At the back, you will find the garden with a relaxation area where you can watch the sun go down, maybe while sipping an aperitif.
San Lawrenz is a tiny Gozitan village neighbouring the idyllic Dwejra bay. From the farmhouse, you can go for some great walks along the cliffs. A small grocery store and a restaurant are located in the village square. You can also find a big supermarket less than five minutes drive away.
Il-Hemda is adjacent to one of our holiday homes, Razzett Gaia, a seven-bedroom accommodation. Combined, these two houses are perfect for large groups.

“This was a spacious villa in a quiet location , all rooms were pleasantly appointed and larger than expected. The pool and external areas were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Our hosts responded very quickly to any queries and requests. We were there end June and the temperature was 28-32. We did not need the AC during the day at all, it was also put on rarely at night as the building structure has very thick walls and kept surprising cool. Beds were firm but comfortable. There is a handy local shop a short walk away and a better one 3 mins drive called the lighthouse.”

Il-Hemda is an amazing house for groups and/ or families (+/- 8 persons). Even if you are with a larger group, you can rent the house next door (+/- 14 persons).
The beaches, the stunning and marvellous spots are in walking & driving distance. We stayed for one week with our kids (between 7 – 11 years old). Each day we went on an adventure trip. Active climbing, swimming in the sea, enjoying lovely lunches (prices are more than reasonable) and ending the day at the swimming pool at home. In the evening we had dinners at home outside (Barbecue) and if it was too windy inside (make sure, you always bring a jumper/ wind jack, because of the wind).
The service we got from Anna Rapa (dereday.com/gozoholidayhomes.com) was superb. So much hospitality. Chapeau!
We have given lots of our friends already the tip, to consider to stay at il-Hemda. We are sure anybody will love spending their holiday in il-Hemda.
Dwejra Bay is barely a five-minute drive away from Il-Hemda. Here you will get to see the Inland Sea. Divers get to marvel at the unique Blue Hole and the submerged remains of the collapsed Azure Window.
